Volunteer Opportunities

Beechwood West #1 Home Association is always looking for motivated volunteers. Within the Tennis program the following opportunities exist:

Each year the courts require the nets and windscreens to be put up in the spring and taken down in the fall. Volunteers can expect to spend 1 to 2 hours twice a year assisting with these activities.

Children lessons are run from spring to fall, with the larger need for volunteers in the summer months. Volunteers can expect to assist with games and drills and encouraging children. Each class is 45 mins long and there are 5 classes in each 1-week session. Volunteers would be expected to commit to assisting at least 1 class for the entire session.

BW1 runs a yearly open house to showcase our facilities and services to our members. Volunteers can expect to welcome members, assist with children's programming, showcase their skills (if desired), and assist with member inquiries. The commitment would be 1 day for approximately 3 hours.

Our courts are well sheltered by trees which means that debris often shows up on the court after storms or high winds. Volunteers can expect to assist with mild cleanup at the courts as needed or escalate more serious issues to the tennis instructor or chair of tennis operations. The commitment would be daily in the morning before lessons begin and should take approximately 30 mins. This would likely be well suited for someone also assisting with lessons.

Well not yet in place, BW1 is working to host a tournament for children. Should this move forward volunteers can expect to participate in the following ways:
